What we are looking for in a Junior QA Tester:

We are seeking an experienced Junior Quality Assurance Tester to join our Toronto development team. As a QA Tester, you put your passion and curiosity to work every day. You are constantly learning and seeking new challenges; you know that you can抰 know everything, but you are confident you can learn anything and continue to grow your career.You will be involved in the design, building and management of our latest offering.Also responsible for creating and executing of test scripts, documenting and reporting defects to meet the needs of customers.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Analyze business requirements documentation to design test cases, scenarios.

2.Perform all levels (smoke, unit, integration, system, regression, performance etc.) testing through development life cycle

3.Efficiently identify bugs and create bug reports.

4.Track defects using bug tracking system.

5.Successfully resolve, with the development staff, any discrepancies that are found during testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-3 years of experience In IT, preferably as a Software tester or related fields

Familiarity with operating systems and general knowledge of computers

Strong QA analytical and problem solving skills, be detail oriented

Good judgment skills while reporting and prioritizing software bugs

Ability to develop and execute test cases, create bug reports and analyze test results

Understating QA processes and test methodologies in a software development environment

Familiarity with databases (SQL, Oracle)

Familiarity with bug tracking/test management tools(Jira&TestRail)

Experience with Agile methodology

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Position Requirements

Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or similar technical training.
8+ years development experience
Expert JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, including ability to hand code without relying on libraries or frameworks
Solid Java (JSP, Struts, Spring, Hibernate)
Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience developing large scale, multi-tenant SaaS applications
Experience with Linux, Tomcat, and MySQL

Responsibilities:

1.Develop and support a web-based application with responsive UI using Java, HTML, JSON and JQuery.
2.Architect, code and debug problematic code
3.Work with and debugging on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets)
4.Follow and implement creative designs and experiences
5.Build against popular Web frameworks and APIs
6.Execute general troubleshooting and problem solving
7.Collaborate with architects, designers/developers, business system analysts and testing specialists to deliver high-quality solution
8.Work with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure coding, testing, debugging and implementation activities are completed as required
9.Participate in the research and evaluation of new tools and technologies
